Invitations and registration documents for EMO Hannover 2019, the metalworking trade fair, have been sent out to around 60 countries. Around 2,200 exhibitors are expected, more than half of them from outside Germany. According to the organizers, exhibitors have responded well to the early bird discount, which runs until October 15, 2018. From September 16 to 21, 2019, the trade fair will provide a platform for innovative solutions, industrial applications and future technologies in the field of metalworking.
“We contact almost every company in the world that does international business and that has some connection with the manufacture of machine tools, tools, components, software and automation for industrial production,” says Carl Martin Welcker, general Commissioner of EMO Hannover 2019.
The event’s theme is “Smart technologies driving tomorrow's production!” in order to focus on the development and implementation of Industry 4.0 functions. The theme will be included in a special IoT in Production show and a new area for individual control technology, software and automation technology exhibitors.
The trade fair will also showcase developments in metalworking machining processes, from additive manufacturing to metal cutting. “Beyond networking and software-controlled production processes, the industry is still very much about metalworking hardware; workpieces still have to be processed in the conventional way to create an end product,” says Mr. Welcker.
